250 t/h Basalt Quarry Upgrade in Nigeria
Upgrading a Nigerian quarry from single-stage crushing to a modern jaw + cone plant - production up from 120 to 250 t/h with dramatically fewer breakdowns.
Introduction
A Nigerian quarry facing growing demand and costly downtime upgraded its aging single-stage line to a modern jaw + cone configuration. The result: production more than doubled to 250 t/h, breakdowns dropped sharply, and a robust, low-maintenance design now carries the site's core production.
Challenge
The existing impact-only plant could not meet growing demand for high-quality aggregate, and frequent breakdowns were costing the business money. The customer needed a robust, low-maintenance upgrade matched to a defined budget.
Solution
We replaced the old impact-only line with a jaw crusher + hydraulic cone crusher configuration, added a grizzly vibrating feeder and upgraded the screening section - with all equipment selected to fit the customer's budget while maximizing uptime.
Outcome
- Production increased from 120 t/h to 250 t/h
- Breakdowns reduced dramatically with robust crusher design
- Spare parts stock pre-positioned in Lagos for fast supply
- Customer received on-site operator training
- Documented commissioning report: no-load and load trial run records with bearing temperature, vibration and power draw.
- Spare-parts kit supplied with the plant (jaw plates, mantle, concave) so a worn part never stops production.
