How to Choose the Right Screens, Feeders & Washers
Vibrating screens and feeders make the crushing plant efficient: the feeder controls feed rate, and the screen separates products to spec. Correct selection prevents bottlenecks, over-crushing and off-spec product.
Screening duty and deck choice
Choose screening media and deck count by duty: scalping at the primary, sizing after the cone/impactor, and washing/dewatering at the end. YK circular screens suit medium duties; YA linear or heavy-duty screens for scalping and dewatering.
Capacity and mesh
Screen capacity depends on surface area, stroke, slope and opening size. Tell us tons per hour and the product sizes (for example 0-5, 5-10, 10-20 mm); we match screen width/length and mesh so each deck handles its load.
Feeder types
ZSW vibrating feeders with grizzly bars scalp oversize before the jaw and meter feed. For stockpiles, a larger feeder with adjustable speed keeps the crusher fully loaded without jams.
Wear and spares
Screen mesh, springs, bearings and exciters are the consumables. DC supplies matched wire mesh and spare parts; keep mesh sets per product size in stock.
Plant balance
An undersized screen starves or overloads downstream equipment; an oversized one wastes power. Provide the full flow sheet (t/h per size) and we will size feeders, screens and conveyors together.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose between YA and YK vibrating screens?
YK circular-motion screens are the standard choice for aggregate sizing; YA screens are often used for heavy-duty scalping and dewatering. Tell us duty, t/h and sizes and we will recommend.
What size screen do I need for 150 t/h?
As a guide, a 3-deck screen around 1.5x4.5 m to 1.8x5.4 m handles 150-250 t/h aggregate duty, depending on mesh opening and feed moisture.
Why use a grizzly feeder before the jaw crusher?
The grizzly removes fines and undersize before the jaw, increasing capacity and reducing jaw plate wear and clogging.
Can you supply the whole screening station?
Yes - feeder, screen, mesh sets, support frame and conveyors can be supplied together with installation guidance.
