Overview
The impact block (breaker block) is a hardened wear component mounted on the impact plate or curtain assembly inside an impact crusher. As the rotor blow bars hurl feed material at high velocity, the material strikes these impact blocks, providing a secondary impact stage that further reduces particle size before the material rebounds back toward the rotor for additional crushing. This multi-stage impact action is what gives impact crushers their characteristic high reduction ratio and well-shaped, cubic product.
Our impact blocks are cast from ZGMn13-2 or Mn18Cr2 manganese steel , which work-hardens under repeated impact to achieve surface hardness of HB 500+ while maintaining a tough, crack-resistant core. Water toughening heat treatment ensures optimal mechanical properties. High chromium cast iron options are available for highly abrasive applications.
Quality & Application
Each impact block passes comprehensive inspection including dimension verification, surface quality assessment and chemical composition analysis before shipment. Anti-rust coating is applied for protection during storage and transit.
Standard impact blocks are stocked for all common PF and PFW series impact crusher models. Custom dimensions, thicknesses and mounting configurations are available for specific crusher models and feed materials. Properly specified impact blocks are essential for achieving high reduction ratios, quality aggregate shape and low operating costs in quarry, mining and construction recycling applications.
Key Features
- Manganese Steel Alloy: ZGMn13-2 manganese steel work-hardens under repeated impact, delivering exceptional wear resistance.
- Secondary Impact: Provides a hardened impact surface that further reduces material size as it rebounds from the blow bars.
- Water Toughened: Precision water toughening ensures maximum toughness and optimal work-hardening response under impact.
- Improved Cubicity: Multi-stage impact action produces well-shaped, cubic aggregate with minimal flaky or elongated particles.
- Replaceable Design: Individual impact blocks can be replaced separately, reducing maintenance cost compared to full plate replacement.
- Custom Sizes: Custom dimensions, thickness and mounting configuration to match your specific impact crusher model.
