Overview
The blow bar (impact hammer) is the primary crushing component of an impact crusher, mounted on the high-speed rotating rotor. As the rotor spins, the blow bars strike incoming feed material at high velocity, hurling it against the impact plates (breaker plates) lining the crushing chamber. This repeated impact action shatters rock along natural cleavage planes, producing well-shaped, cubic aggregate. Blow bars are the highest-wear component in an impact crusher and require periodic replacement.
Our blow bars are cast from high chromium cast iron (Cr26 / Cr28) for maximum abrasion resistance, or manganese steel (ZGMn13-2 / Mn18Cr2) for high-impact applications where work-hardening is beneficial. Precision heat treatment achieves optimal hardness and toughness balance.
Quality & Application
Each blow bar passes comprehensive inspection including hardness testing (HRC), dimension verification and surface quality assessment before shipment. Chemical composition is verified by spectrometer to ensure alloy consistency.
Standard blow bars are stocked for all common PF and PFW series impact crusher models. Custom lengths, cross-sections and material grades are available for specific crusher models and feed materials. A properly specified blow bar is essential for efficient crushing performance, high-quality aggregate output and low operating cost in quarry, mining and recycling applications.
Key Features
- High Chromium Alloy: Cr26 high chromium cast iron delivers exceptional abrasion resistance with HRC 58-62 hardness for extended service life.
- High-Impact Force: Rotor-mounted blow bars accelerate material to high velocity, shattering rock along natural grain boundaries.
- Extended Wear Life: Premium alloy composition and precision heat treatment significantly reduce wear rate and replacement frequency.
- Dual Material Options: Available in high chromium cast iron for abrasive applications or manganese steel for high-impact, work-hardening scenarios.
- Cubic Product Shape: Impact crushing produces well-shaped, cubic aggregate with minimal flaky particles, ideal for concrete and asphalt.
- Custom Sizes: Custom length, cross-section and material grade to match your specific impact crusher model and application.
