Overview
The cheek plate (side guard plate) is a wear-resistant liner installed on both side walls of the crushing chamber in a jaw crusher. It protects the cast steel frame from direct abrasive contact with rock and ore during the crushing process, acting as a sacrificial wear component that is far more economical to replace than the frame itself.
Our cheek plates are cast from ZGMn13-2 or Mn18Cr2 high manganese steel , which work-hardens under the impact and abrasion of crushing to achieve surface hardness exceeding HB 500 while maintaining a tough, crack-resistant core. Both flat and corrugated profiles are available to suit different crusher configurations.
Quality & Application
Each cheek plate passes comprehensive inspection including dimension verification, chemical composition analysis and surface quality checks before shipment. Mounting holes are precision-drilled for proper fit on the crusher frame.
Standard cheek plates are stocked for all common PE and PEX series jaw crusher sizes. Custom manganese grades, thicknesses and dimensions are available for specific rock types (hard granite, limestone, iron ore) and crusher models. Selecting the right cheek plate material is critical for protecting the crusher frame and minimizing operating cost per ton in mining, quarry and aggregate operations.
