Overview
The eccentric shaft is the main drive component of a jaw crusher, a heavy forged steel shaft supported by bearings in the main frame and carrying the moving jaw through its central eccentric portion. As the shaft rotates, the eccentric offset causes the moving jaw to perform a reciprocating swinging motion that compresses rock between the fixed and movable jaw plates to perform crushing. The flywheel and belt pulley are mounted on the shaft ends to input power and store energy.
Our eccentric shafts are forged from 42CrMo or 40Cr alloy steel , with bearing journals and the eccentric portion CNC-machined to precise tolerances. Quenching and tempering heat treatment achieves high strength and toughness, while bearing journals are surface hardened for extended wear life. Non-destructive testing verifies shaft integrity.
Quality & Application
Each eccentric shaft passes comprehensive inspection including non-destructive testing (UT/MT), hardness testing, dimension verification and surface roughness measurement before shipment. Anti-rust protection is applied to machined surfaces.
Standard eccentric shafts are manufactured for all common PE and PEX series jaw crusher sizes. Custom shaft diameters, lengths and eccentricities are available for specific crusher models. As the core power transmission component, a properly manufactured eccentric shaft is essential for reliable crusher operation, proper jaw stroke and long service life in mining and quarry applications.
Key Features
- Forged Alloy Steel: 42CrMo alloy steel forging provides high strength, toughness and fatigue resistance under heavy loads.
- Precision Eccentricity: CNC-machined eccentric offset ensures accurate stroke and consistent crushing performance.
- Hardened Journals: Bearing journals are surface hardened for extended wear life and reduced bearing friction.
- NDT Inspected: Non-destructive testing ensures shaft integrity with no hidden cracks or inclusions.
- Core Drive Component: Transmits power from flywheel to moving jaw, converting rotation to the crushing stroke.
- Custom Sizes: Custom shaft diameter, length and eccentricity to match your specific jaw crusher model.
