Overview
The flywheel and belt pulley is a heavy cast iron wheel mounted on each end of the eccentric shaft in a jaw crusher. One wheel typically incorporates V-belt grooves to receive power from the motor via V-belts, while both wheels serve as flywheels that store rotational energy during the non-crushing portion of the cycle and release it during the crushing stroke, smoothing out the highly variable load and reducing motor power requirements.
Our flywheels and pulleys are cast from HT250 or HT300 high-strength cast iron , with V-belt grooves and mounting bores CNC-machined to precise tolerances. Each wheel is dynamically balanced to ensure smooth, vibration-free rotation at operating speed, reducing bearing loads and extending bearing life.
Quality & Application
Each flywheel and pulley passes comprehensive inspection including dynamic balance testing, dimension verification and surface quality assessment before shipment. Anti-rust primer and industrial paint are applied for corrosion protection.
Standard flywheels and pulleys are stocked for all common PE and PEX series jaw crusher sizes. Custom diameters, belt groove counts and mounting configurations are available for specific crusher models and motor setups. A properly manufactured and balanced flywheel is essential for smooth crusher operation, reduced motor power demand and extended drivetrain component life in mining and quarry applications.
