Overview
The toggle plate (toggle / cheek plate) is a critical structural and safety component in a jaw crusher, installed horizontally between the rear of the moving jaw and the adjustment seat. It serves three functions: it provides the rear pivot support for the moving jaw, transmits crushing forces from the jaw to the adjustment seat and frame, and acts as a designed safety fuse that intentionally breaks if an uncrushable object (such as a steel tooth or large boulder) enters the crushing chamber, preventing catastrophic damage to more expensive components like the eccentric shaft, moving jaw or main frame.
Our toggle plates are cast from HT250 or HT300 cast iron , chosen for its good compressive strength combined with controlled brittleness that ensures predictable fracture under overload. End surfaces are CNC-machined for proper seating and force transfer.
Quality & Application
Each toggle plate passes comprehensive inspection including dimension verification, flatness check and surface quality assessment before shipment. Anti-rust coating is applied for protection during storage and transit.
Standard toggle plates are stocked for all common PE and PEX series jaw crusher sizes. Custom lengths, thicknesses and end configurations are available for specific crusher models. As both a structural support and the primary safety device, a properly manufactured toggle plate is essential for reliable crusher operation and protection of expensive crusher components in mining and quarry applications where uncrushable material may occasionally enter the feed.
