Overview
The bowl bearing (step bearing / socket liner) is a lead bronze spherical bearing installed at the bottom of the main shaft in a Symons cone crusher. It provides the lower pivot support for the main shaft, with a precision-machined spherical inner surface that accommodates the shaft's gyratory motion as the eccentric drives the cone head in a circular path.
Our bowl bearings are centrifugally cast from ZCuPb20Sn5 / ZCuPb15Sn7 lead bronze , which provides superior load-bearing capacity, excellent wear resistance and low friction characteristics. The spherical inner surface is CNC-machined and lapped to precise tolerances for smooth, friction-free gyratory motion and optimal lubrication film formation.
Quality & Application
Each bowl bearing passes full dimension inspection, spherical surface verification and surface roughness checks before shipment. Anti-rust oil is applied for protection during storage and ocean freight.
Standard bowl bearings are stocked for all common Symons spring cone crusher sizes. Custom spherical radii, outer diameters and heights are available for non-standard crusher configurations. As a critical bearing component, a properly manufactured bowl bearing is essential for smooth main shaft operation, proper crusher alignment and extended main shaft service life in mining and quarry operations.
