Overview
The pinion gear (bevel pinion) is the smaller bevel gear in the cone crusher drive train, mounted on the pinion (drive) shaft. It meshes with the large bevel gear integral to the eccentric bushing, transmitting rotational power from the motor and flywheel to drive the eccentric assembly and produce the cone head gyratory motion that performs crushing.
Our pinion gears are forged from 42CrMo or 40Cr alloy steel , with gear teeth CNC-machined to precise profiles and induction hardened for wear resistance. The complete gear undergoes quenching and tempering heat treatment to achieve optimal strength and toughness balance for heavy-duty crushing service.
Quality & Application
Each pinion gear passes comprehensive inspection including gear tooth profile verification, pitch measurement, dimension check and optional non-destructive testing. Anti-rust coating is applied for protection during storage and transit.
Standard pinion gears are stocked for all common Symons spring cone crusher sizes. Custom tooth counts, modules, gear ratios and shaft interfaces are available for specific crusher configurations. As a critical transmission component, a properly manufactured pinion gear ensures efficient power transfer, quiet operation and extended service life for the entire gear set in mining and quarry operations.
