Overview
The moving cone head assembly is the core crushing component of a Symons spring cone crusher. Mounted on the main shaft via its tapered center bore, it gyrates eccentrically to compress rock between the mantle liner (fitted on its outer cone surface) and the concave liner, producing the crushing action.
Our moving cone heads are cast from ZGMn13-2 high-manganese steel and water-toughened (austenitized) to achieve maximum toughness and work-hardening capability. The center bore, taper and outer cone profile are CNC-machined for precise fit and stable operation.
Quality & Application
Each head undergoes chemical composition verification, full dimension inspection and surface quality checks before shipment. Industrial paint is applied for corrosion protection during storage and transit.
Standard moving cone heads are stocked for all common Symons spring cone crusher sizes. Custom materials including Mn18Cr2 high-manganese steel and custom dimensions are available upon request. Ideal for hard-rock crushing applications including granite, basalt, iron ore and riverstone in mining and quarry operations.
Key Features
- High-Manganese Steel: ZGMn13-2 manganese steel work-hardens under impact, delivering exceptional wear resistance.
- Precision Machined Bore: CNC-machined center bore and taper ensure precise fit on the main shaft for stable gyration.
- Water Toughened: Proper austenitizing heat treatment maximizes toughness and work-hardening capability.
- Mantle Seat Ready: Precision outer cone profile provides a stable seat for the mantle wear liner installation.
- Impact Resistant: Manganese steel absorbs impact energy through work-hardening, resisting fracture under heavy load.
- Custom Casting Available: Produce moving cone heads to your drawing, sample or specified crusher model requirements.
